Thank You does not seem all-encompassing enough to describe our gratitude to all who helped organize the celebration of our Parish Patronal Feast.
The Parish of Corpus Christi would like to thank all who participated in the Procession and Mass honoring the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. We took our Faith to the streets of the East Side, and in doing so honored a longtime tradition of the Polish people and of the Catholic Church at large. We would like to thank Bishop Edward Grosz and all the priests who walked in the Procession, to those priests who encouraged their parishioners to join them, and to the Brothers and Deacon who were part of our walk of faith. Corpus Christi Parish would like to thank those who prepared the outdoor altars, and the person who arranged the flowers in Church. Thank you to the Ushers who assisted with many duties. We acknowledge the good Sisters who come every year to walk with us, and those who carried statues and banners. Thank you to the 15 musicians from 3 different counties who rehearsed for four days to sing and play during the Mass and the procession. How about the beautiful Flower Girls? We thank them and the Bell Ringers and their family members. We also thank the person who navigated the procession through the streets without incident. Thank you to those who looked after the well-being of the participants, those who distributed programs, and collected them for use next year. We would like to note the special cooperation of St. Stanislaus and Corpus Christi along with St. Casimir Church; it only makes the procession stronger when parishes work together. We would like to thank those who made arrangements for donations and delivery of food, and those who came one day before to prepare the receptions. We thank the table setters, chair movers, sandwich makers, salad spinners, dessert makers, and servers in both locations. There were so many areas where people helped out, we can’t thank everyone individually. If we have missed an area that should be acknowledged and documented, please let us know. Finally, thank you to all who encouraged others to participate, through emails, newspaper articles, Facebook posts, phone calls, and fliers. The many photographers who volunteered to capture the beauty of the day enable the world to see online and in print, how we share Jesus’ presence on the East Side of Buffalo.
Perhaps the best way to say thank you is the way we do in Polish, Bóg Zapłać! – (May God Repay You!)
