This is a letter we received from Mother Teresa of Jesus, OCD, of the Carmelite Monastery of the Little Flower of Jesus in regards to having the relics Pope St. John Paul II and triptych brought to the monastery.
Dear Fr Michal,
Praised be Jesus Christ!
May God reward Your Reverence for bringing the relics of Pope St. John Paul II, with the beautiful triptych of John Paul, Our Lady of Czestochowa and St Faustina, to our Carmel from November 27-29, 2019.
It was truly a privilege for our Community to be blessed with this opportunity to pray in the presence of a saint who is so dear to our hearts!
It was especially providential that the relics stayed with us for the Thanksgiving holiday, since we certainly give great thanks to God for all the graces which He has bestowed on the Church through the leadership, and now the heavenly intercession, of this great saint.
Carmelites owe a special debt of gratitude to Pope St. John Paul II (himself a Third Order Carmelite) for approving our Constitutions and allowing us to preserve the true spirit of Our Holy Mother St Teresa of Jesus, to whom he was especially devoted.
We still read with great edification the exhortations he addressed to the Discalced Carmelites on the occasion of his visits to Spain.
It was a beautiful grace to have the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Divine Office in the presence of the relics, and for the Sisters to make private visits to invoke his powerful intercession.
We beg Pope St. John Paul II to intercede for the Church and the world in these very troubled times, hoping that the new springtime for the Church which he longed for will come about soon.
Thank you again for this wonderful blessing!
