Feast of Epiphany

Today we celebrate the Feast of Epiphany of the Lord

Posted by admin on 01/06/2017

Today we celebrate the Feast of Epiphany of the Lord, the feast, which commemorates the moment of Baby Jesus being revealed to the world. But this celebration includes also two other aspects, moments from the earthly life of the Savior; these are the Baptism of the Lord and the Wedding in Cana.

Historically, the Holy Trinity is revealed to us for the first time and asked by His Mother Emmanuel performs the first messianic miracle, after which His disciples started to believe in Him. On this day we are so grateful for the gift of faith kept through centuries by our ancestors, our former parishioners in the Holy Catholic Church. It is also a good opportunity to thank all people of good will who “on different fronts” help to keep up our Corpus Christi “a Pearl of East Side” and who are still here and are ready to “go and announce the Gospel of the Lord” (dismissal after the Holy Mass).

We would like to thank especially those who surround us here on regular basis, whom we meet not only in the office, and are active and care for our parish on different levels. We cannot forget all of those who remembered us during this warm Christmas Season in prayers, wishes, Food, cakes and other gifts. “I’m just thankful for everything, all the blessings in my life, trying to stay that way. I think that’s the best way to start your day and finish your day. It keeps everything in perspective” said an athlete Tim Tebow.

We keep you in our prayers! The truth of faith and tradition which we celebrate this Sunday, invites us not only to meditate upon revelation of God given to us in His “Only Begotten Son” (the Creed), but also put on our shoulders the duty of further proclamation of the Word of God made Man.

Celebrating the 110th anniversary of blessing of the corner stone we live under other circumstances than twenty or forty years ago but of missionary activities we were not exempted. We are called to keep our parish and to bring Good News to others. Reprehensible is to fall prey to bad moods, it never helped. Instead of that; “We would worry less if we praised more. Thanksgiving is the enemy of discontent and dissatisfaction” (Henry Ironside, a Canadian Bible Teacher, +1951).

In Christ Our Lord,

Fathers Mariusz & Michal
