A unique presentation about the Mayer Stained Glass Windows housed in Corpus Christi Church, and a detailed explanation of the Disputa, painting over our altar will take place on Saturday, November 17th , at 3:00 pm in the beautiful Church, 199 Clark Street, one block east of the Broadway Market. Martin Ederer, PhD; Professor of Medieval History at Buffalo State College will discuss the figures represented in the painting and their significance in history and why they may have been selected to be in the painting.
Also present will be representatives from the Swiatek Studios Inc., who will discuss and have on display examples of the restoration and conservation that will be done to the Church’s windows.
The afternoon’s presentation will also feature Mary Palmer, teacher and musician; who will perform music in honor of St. Cecelia, patroness of Music.
This will be the first in a series of discussions held by the parish. Come and learn firsthand more about the fascinating people showcased in our representation of the Disputa, and the concepts and process used to conserve the history of the Church.
A free will collection will be accepted, that will be used for the restoration of the windows.
