I like this photo, because it’s really the first time the church has ever been seen like this. The bottom has always been blocked by the buildings in front of it. It is also unfortunate, because it also means the local history is is being erased, and the future of this neighborhood is still undetermined. Such a beautiful church. I hope the city comes to the rescue of the Eastside, they have ignored it for far too long. Broadway/Fillmore was once the 2nd busiest intersection (Times Square was #1) in New York, is only a few blocks away. So much money spent rebuilding downtown, now they need to work on the spokes that lead from there, through these great old neighborhoods.
