Statue of Mary Crowned Corpus Christi Church

The crowning of the statue of the Virgin Mary will take place after the 10am Mass across from Corpus Christi Church.

The tall statue, which was installed on the site of two formerly vacant lots shortly after the Pauline Fathers purchased Corpus Christi Church, will be crowned with a wreath of fresh flowers between the end of the 10 a.m. Mass and the beginning of the 11:30 a.m. Mass.

Polish Marian hymns will be sung during and after the 10 a.m. Polish language Mass. Fr. Michał Czyżewski, Administrator of Corpus Christi Church says, “I look forward to participating in my first May devotions in Buffalo, and invite everyone in WNY to join us on May 8, as well as for our Corpus Christi weekend May 27-May 29.”

On Sunday, May 29, Bishop Richard J. Malone will lead the annual Corpus Christi procession on the East Side of Buffalo for the first time. The procession begins at 1:15 a.m. from St. Stanislaus Church, proceeds to four outdoor altars, and concludes with Holy Mass at Corpus Christi Church. On Friday, May 27, the Camerata di Sant’ Antonio will present a classical concert entitled “Slavic Soul” in the church at 7 p.m. Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament will take place on Saturday, May 28.

Corpus Christi Church is located at 199 Clark St. in Buffalo, one block from the Broadway Market, between Broadway, and Memorial Drive. For more information, please call the rectory, at 896-1050.
