Photos: Sacrament of Confirmation on 06/02/2019

Posted by admin on 06/05/2019

On June 2 (Sunday), during the 11 am Mass in the Corpus Christi Church in Buffalo, Most Reverend Richard J. Malone, Bishop of Buffalo gives a Sacrament of Confirmation to Konrad Krzyszton, Thomas Seternus, William Ulicki and Alexa Karmilowicz.

Confirmation is a Sacrament of Initiation (along with Baptism and Eucharist) in which a baptized Catholic, through prayers, imposition of hands and the anointing with chrism oil, receives a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit that completes baptismal grace. The Sacrament of Confirmation impresses a character, and by it the baptized, continuing on the path of Christian initiation, are enriched by the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and bound more perfectly to the Church. It strengthens them and obliges them more firmly to be witnesses to Christ by word and deed and to spread and defend the faith (CCC 1285). Through this Sacrament of Initiation, the bishop confirms the sacramental journey of faith begun at baptism and initiates candidates into the Greater Church community.

They didn’t hide that were enchanted by it’s beauty. Pastor, Fr. Michał Czyżewski, not only carefully explained the long tradition of the Parish and of the local Polonia, but also focus on the art as one of the factors which leads people to God.

Despite of studying in Poland the group of students is very international: Nathaz Droz is originally from Switzerland, Zelalem Ntesfaye – Ethiopia, M.Morgan Sayed – Egypt, Liana Blikharska and Mariam Kunchuliya – Ukraine, Paulina A. Bugajska and Maciej Kamiński – Poland. Most of them the very first time were in the US, and in WNY.
