Photos: Sister Benigna Kania visits Corpus Christi Church

Posted by admin on 07/17/2019

On Saturday – July 6, 2019 Corpus Christi Church in Buffalo host Sister Benigna Kania OSU from Ursulines of the Roman Union (Poland – Warsaw). S. Benigna is provincial superior of the Ursuline Sisters of the Roman Union in Poland. The Ursuline is the religious order of women founded at Brescia, Italy, in 1535, by St. Angela Merici. The order was the first institute for women dedicated exclusively to the education of girls. The founder left her spiritual daughters a letter that expressed her desire that they would continue in thanksgiving for the gift of choosing “the bride of the Son of God” and that they were united with “hearts filled with love” to God and every man. The mission of the Order is to evangelize through bringing up and teaching above all children and young people. They also undertake missionary activities in various countries of Central America, Africa and Eastern Europe. We like to wish our visitor special grace and support form Blessed Virgin Mary, and say thank you to visit Corpus Christi Church.

Photos: Mission Appeal by Fr. Raymond Fernandez Vijandre of the Disciples of Mary

Posted by admin on 07/03/2019

On June 29th & 30th, Corpus Christi Church in Buffalo, hosted Father Raymond F. Vijandre of the Disciples of Mary. Father Raymond shared his missionary experience. His mission apostate is to the young people in the Philippines who are confronted with serious challenges of addiction, materialism and violence. Parishioners were asked to support his work and to take part in the world wide mission of our church through prayers and donations. Contributor and benefactors receive the full graces of the Eucharist offered by this missionary priest. One more time, we like to say thank you for your spiritual support and help and thank you to Father Raymond F. Vijander for his commitment to help those less fortunate.

From Fr. Raymond Fernandez Vijandre:

My sincerest gratitude to your Beloved Bishop, His Excellency the Most Rev. Richard Joseph Malone , to the Pastor Rev. Michał Czyżewski, OSPPE and to all of you, for welcoming me to your Parish/Church and for giving me this opportunity to make this Mission Appeal.

I am Fr. Raymond Fernandez Vijandre of the Disciples of Mary. The Disciples of Mary begun in 1976 in the Philippines and ecclesiastically established as a religious community of men in 1990 by a Carmelite Bishop, Julio Xavier Labayen, OCD. We are young and small community of priests and brothers. The community’s main ministry is to work among young people, to provide them with moral and spiritual formation, through leadership, value formation training, and youth empowerment programs. Having been in the Disciples of Mary for nineteen years, 10 years as a seminarian and ten years as a priest, I have witnessed different ministerial challenges among our Filipino Youth. I have heard stories of struggles to survive due to poverty, broken families, abuse, addictions and other problems that continuously haunt them.

Having celebrated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the Church of Corpus Christi and Saint Stanislaus I felt like I was in Europe especially in Poland. It was truly a privilege to be there. Thank you for the having our community to do the Mission Appeal and thank you for the warm welcome that I received from the parishioners. God bless. Chwała niech będzie Pan Jezus Chrystus teraz i na wieki nasza Pani z Częstochowy, módlcie się za nami.
