Lenten Saturday Series at Corpus Christi Church Begins March 7th
Corpus Christi will be hosting a series of thought provoking sessions on four consecutive Saturdays during lent this year. Topics are quite unique and very week to week. They begin at 3:00 p.m. will last approximately and hour with a question and answer session following. You are encouraged to attend the 5:00 Sunday vigil Mass following the discussions. Marty Ederer will lead a Lenten Saturday series in March. Each topic will start at 3 PM.
- March 7: Some Bible Basics (Kolbe Center)
- March 14: Coping with Un-Catholicism (Kolbe Center)
- March 21: Those Awful Catholics: Dealing with embarrassing pages in Catholic history (Kolbe Center)
- March 28: Tour of Church (Meet in church)

Ash Wednesday opens Lent, a season of fasting and prayer. Ash Wednesday takes place 46 days before Easter Sunday, and is chiefly observed by Catholics, although many other Christians observe it too. Ash Wednesday comes from the ancient Jewish tradition of penance and fasting. The practice includes the wearing of ashes on the head. The ashes symbolize the dust from which God made us. As the priest applies the ashes to a person’s forehead, he speaks the words: “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
