Photos: Mission Appeal by Fr. Raymond Fernandez Vijandre of the Disciples of Mary

On June 29th & 30th, Corpus Christi Church in Buffalo, hosted Father Raymond F. Vijandre of the Disciples of Mary. Father Raymond shared his missionary experience. His mission apostate is to the young people in the Philippines who are confronted with serious challenges of addiction, materialism and violence. Parishioners were asked to support his work and to take part in the world wide mission of our church through prayers and donations. Contributor and benefactors receive the full graces of the Eucharist offered by this missionary priest. One more time, we like to say thank you for your spiritual support and help and thank you to Father Raymond F. Vijander for his commitment to help those less fortunate.

From Fr. Raymond Fernandez Vijandre:

My sincerest gratitude to your Beloved Bishop, His Excellency the Most Rev. Richard Joseph Malone , to the Pastor Rev. Michał Czyżewski, OSPPE and to all of you, for welcoming me to your Parish/Church and for giving me this opportunity to make this Mission Appeal.

I am Fr. Raymond Fernandez Vijandre of the Disciples of Mary. The Disciples of Mary begun in 1976 in the Philippines and ecclesiastically established as a religious community of men in 1990 by a Carmelite Bishop, Julio Xavier Labayen, OCD. We are young and small community of priests and brothers. The community’s main ministry is to work among young people, to provide them with moral and spiritual formation, through leadership, value formation training, and youth empowerment programs. Having been in the Disciples of Mary for nineteen years, 10 years as a seminarian and ten years as a priest, I have witnessed different ministerial challenges among our Filipino Youth. I have heard stories of struggles to survive due to poverty, broken families, abuse, addictions and other problems that continuously haunt them.

Having celebrated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the Church of Corpus Christi and Saint Stanislaus I felt like I was in Europe especially in Poland. It was truly a privilege to be there. Thank you for the having our community to do the Mission Appeal and thank you for the warm welcome that I received from the parishioners. God bless. Photos: Feast of Corpus Christi – Uroczystość Bożego Ciałała

The Parish of Corpus Christi would like to thank the Most Rev. Bishop Richard Malone and Fr. Ryszard Biernat for taking part in our Feast day procession, we would like to thank all the visiting clergy who walked with us, and we would also like to illustrate the wonderful cooperation between St. Stanislaus Church and here at Corpus Christi. We thank all those who helped with the procession from escorting the children to passing out water bottles and those who carried amplifiers, rang bells and carried statues. We would also like to thank those who helped with the food; not only at the Social and Athletic Hall but here at the rectory. Thank you one and all for your efforts to make this a blessed beautiful day.

Photos: Father’s Day at Corpus Christi – 06/16/2019

On the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, Sunday June 16, the community of Corpus Christi Church in Buffalo ( 199 Clark St. ) prayed, meditated the mystery and honor the eternal God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

On this same day in the USA, we celebrated Father’s Day. During liturgy ( 9:30 am and 11am) we prayed for our dads and for all fathers who are no longer with us. Fathers, who participated in Holy Mass, received a special blessing and gifts from Fr. Michał Czyżewski, pastor of Corpus Christi Church in Buffalo. During the Novena Masses (9 in total) we will continue to pray for all fathers living and deceased.
