Fr. Justin Figas will be remembered at a Holy Mass to be offered at Corpus Christi Church on Saturday October 24 at 5:30 p.m. The church is located at 199 Clark Street, just one block from the Broadway Market. All are invited to attend.
As founder of the Rosary Hour radio program, Fr. Justin “opened the doors of Corpus Christi” to the entire nation with his weekly message of spiritual guidance, encouragement and hope. His broadcast, begun in 1931, continues as the longest continually running religious radio program in the world.
From its earliest days, Corpus Christi parish was committed to providing a solid education for newly arrived immigrant children. This focus helped to ease the transition into their newly adopted homeland and to offer them the best chance to develop their full potential. Fr. Justin took this responsibility one step further by founding St. Francis High School in Athol Springs. The school’s educational standards of excellence continue to prepare generations of Western New York students for higher education.
