2nd Annual Buffalo’s Best Homemade Pierogi Contest
Corpus Christi Church is looking for Buffalo and Western New York’s best homemade pierogi by holding its second annual Buffalo’s Best Homemade Pierogi Contest.
The contest is part of Corpus Christi’s 30th Dożynki Harvest Festival.
Applicants will be judged in one of two categories: traditional (potato, fruit, cheese or sauerkraut) and non-traditional recipes (use your imagination). The contest is open to all amateur cooks. (No restaurants or commercial vendors please.) The winners in each category will receive the title of Buffalo’s Best Homemade Pierogi Maker 2009 and prizes. Winners will be determined by a panel of local celebrity judges.
Last year’s event was a huge success!

Farewell to Brother Peter
It is with great sadness that we inform you of Brother Peter’s reassignment to Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. This transition will take effect on Monday, August 3, 2009.
Brother Peter has been an integral part of Corpus Christi Church for the past 5 ½ years. He has touched us with his reverence, deep faith, and love for Our Heavenly Father. Not only has he been a loyal assistant to our Pastor and fellow parish priests, he has also accomplished many wonderful transformations within the parish proper. Along with being the main influence behind the restoration of the convent chapel, he also remodeled our beloved Kolbe Center, put a brand new floor on the stage in the Sears St. Athletic Club, and updated the Rectory with gorgeous hardwood floors throughout. Perhaps his most ‘relaxing’ accomplishment was his care of the garden in backyard of the Rectory. It is without a doubt the most beautiful garden on the East Side of Buffalo!
Let’s get together to show Brother Peter our love and gratitude as we wish him well on his next journey.
Please join us as we bid farewell to our beloved Brother Peter on Sunday, August 2, 2009 after 11:30am Mass in the Sears St. Hall
