The Parish of Corpus Christi would like to thank the Most Rev. Bishop Richard Malone and Fr. Ryszard Biernat for taking part in our Feast day procession, we would like to thank all the visiting clergy who walked with us, and we would also like to illustrate the wonderful cooperation between St. Stanislaus Church and here at Corpus Christi. We thank all those who helped with the procession from escorting the children to passing out water bottles and those who carried amplifiers, rang bells and carried statues. We would also like to thank those who helped with the food; not only at the Social and Athletic Hall but here at the rectory. On the Solemnity of the Holy Body and Blood of Jesus – June 23 (Sunday), the parish dedicated to Corpus Christi in Buffalo celebrated its annual indulgence. It is already a custom that on this day from the neighboring parish of Saint Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr sets off the Eucharistic procession to the parish of Corpus Christi. The procession this year was presided over by Bishop Richard Joseph Malone, ordinary of the diocese of Buffalo (USA).<\/p>\n
Preparations for the Corpus Christi ceremony lasted for several weeks. It was necessary to obtain a permit from the city office to organize the procession and inform the police, who took care of security during the prayer at the four altars. People from both parishes met to discuss the details and plan the march of the procession properly.<\/p>\n
At each altar, the Gospels were read in English and Polish. Similarly, Eucharistic songs were performed in two languages \u200b\u200bby participants of the procession.<\/p>\n
On a sunny afternoon, the procession reached the Church of Corpus Christi, in which the Holy Mass was celebrated. under the guidance of the Bishop’s priest. The liturgy was attended by, among others priests from neighboring parishes, deacons, seminarians, nuns, representatives of Polish and American organizations, youth and children.<\/p>\n
The memory of traditions and sustaining them among Polonia living in this part of America, Americans of Polish descent and followers of Jesus Christ from other continents, is intended to stimulate even greater zeal in religious life. It is undoubtedly participation in the procession of the Corpus Christi to such moments lived and expected. The Eucharistic procession is an opportunity to honor Jesus Christ hidden in the Blessed Sacrament and to confess publicly faith.<\/p>\n
