\"Corpus<\/p>\n

On\u00a0Sunday,\u00a0June 2, 2013, St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Church will join with\u00a0Corpus\u00a0Christi\u00a0Church to commemorate the Solemnity of\u00a0Corpus\u00a0Christi. \u00a0Catholics from all around Buffalo and Western New York are invited to\u00a0participate.<\/p>\n

The observance will begin at 3:00p.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, located at 123 Townsend Street in Buffalo, for a traditional outdoor procession with the Most Blessed Sacrament through the streets of East Buffalo\u2019s Historic Polonia.\u00a0 In keeping with tradition, the procession will pause for devotions at four outside altars created specifically for this feast. The procession will end at\u00a0Corpus\u00a0Christi\u00a0Church, located at 199 Clark Street, followed immediately by Benediction and Holy Mass.<\/p>\n

A reception with light refreshments will follow at Corpus\u00a0Christi.\u00a0 All are welcome to attend.<\/p>\n

The Feast of\u00a0Corpus\u00a0Christi, which dates to the 13th Century, celebrates the institution of the Holy Mass and professes the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.\u00a0 This ceremony has long been an important day in Polish culture that is observed with a public display of faith.\u00a0 Especially in recent years, hundreds of Western New Yorkers have commemorated this important event by participating in the church procession.<\/p>\n

Leading up to the Solemnity of\u00a0Corpus\u00a0Christi\u00a0is Forty Hours of Adoration of the Holy Eucharist. \u00a0This begins On Friday, May 31st at 6:30p.m. with special devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and\u00a0spiritual\u00a0teachings by Father Marek Kreis. \u00a0The adoration continues until 11:00a.m. on\u00a0Sunday\u00a0June 2 at\u00a0Corpus\u00a0Christi Church.<\/p>\n
