Living Stations of the Cross at Corpus Christi Church on March 23rd

Young people from the Underground Youth Ministry will portray the Passion of Jesus at the Corpus Christi Church on Friday, March 23 at 6:30 p.m. The youth invite all believers to participate, as they bear the weight of the Cross and give witness to the Faith and immense suffering of Jesus.  These “Living Stations” will be accompanied by narration and dramatic music. The youth group is based at St. Brendan on the Lake Parish in Wilson, N.Y. An additional presentation will take place on Main St. in Newfane on March 25 at 3 p.m.

Over 40 people took part in the Stations of the Cross this past Friday at Corpus Christi Church. Join us every Friday during Lent at 6:30 p.m. One week in Polish, one week in English. Began in Polish on 2/16. All who would like to walk with Jesus are welcome. Sun. masses are at 9:30am (English), 11:00am (Polish, with Gorzkie żale).

The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step Catholic devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ’s last day on Earth as a man. The 14 devotions, or stations, focus on specific events of His last day, beginning with His condemnation. The stations are commonly used as a mini pilgrimage as the individual moves from station to station. At each station, the individual recalls and meditates on a specific event from Christ’s last day. Specific prayers are recited, then the individual moves to the next station until all 14 are complete.
