Hand Ringing of Church bells to announce  110th Anniversary of Cornerstone Laying

On Sunday October 29th Corpus Christi Church will commemorate the 110th Anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone to build the magnificent Romanesque Church. Three volunteer bellringers will hand pull three bells weighing a total of 3,700 pounds. The church  took two years to construct ended up costing $200,000. Fr. Michael Czyzewski, Pastor,  stated, “We invite the entire Western New York community to celebrate this very special day in our history We will begin with the  Holy Mass at 11AM in Polish and English. Afterward we will serve dinner at the Sears Street Center.”

There will be an interesting short Historical Program describing the 1907 laying of the cornerstone by History Professor Dr. Martin Ederer ; a short film celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Church and the introduction of the oldest parishioner. This will be followed by a Golabki  and Chicken Dinner. Tickets are $25 for adults presell (until October 23) $30 at the door, Couple for  $45 and Children under 12 years old $12. Profits from the event will go to ongoing repairs of the roof.

In 2007 the church complex was placed on the National Register of Historic Sites and has completed 10 major repair/restoration projects in the past 11 years costing $2 million.
