Corpus Christi Church had some very special guests last week, namely, Novitiates of the Conventual Franciscans. Here is a letter of thanks they sent following their visit:
Dear Fr. Michal,
It was a real pleasure for us to visit Corpus Christi Church
(June, 18) which holds so much significance in the history of our order in the United States, and also to meet you and the very informative volunteer tour guide from the office.Every year the Conventual Franciscan Novitiate community (men who are in formation with the Order) travel to the east coast of the United States to visit with our Friars and to see the ministries and parishes in the area. Corpus Christi Church holds much significance as it was the first ‘Conventual Franciscan Church’ on the east coast and is still referred to as the ‘Mother Church’ of the American Friars today. It was important for us to pay a visit to the Church and to breath in the history surrounding the place. We are extremely glad the that Pauline Fathers have been taking such good care of the Parish and the people since inheriting them in 2004. Please keep us Novice Friars in your prayers as we profess our Simple Vows on July 24th, 2015. Peace and all good!
