No Complaining! Lent 2009 at CCC

This year at Corpus Christi Church, we’re proposing a different type of Lent. While we’re still basing our observance on prayer, fasting and almsgiving, there’s going to be a special common focus.

At the beginning of Lent all who come to Mass will be invited to take part one of the silicone bracelets that have become so popular and widespread the past few years. This one will be light purple in keeping with the Lenten custom and includes the words “SPIRIT” and “acomplaintfreeworld.org .”

Complaining doesn’t fit in with the message of Jesus and our Christian call. So those who participate will wear these trying to be non-complaining individuals and a non-complaining community of faith.

Bracelet-wearing will encourage all, from the pastor to the newest member, to concentrate not only on eliminating complaining but to promote thankfulness and peace.
